The month: avoid the edges
Nearly every rental agreement in Bangalore ends on the last day of a month. So the window from the 27th to the 3rd is when the entire city moves at once — trucks are double-booked, the best crews are spoken for, and society service lifts have queues. Prices follow demand.
The sweet spot: the 8th to the 22nd. Same crew, same truck, same distance — quieter calendar, lower quote.
If your agreement forces a month-end move, you can still win: most landlords will happily take handover a few days early or grant a short overlap, especially if you ask when renewing. A three-day overlap between homes costs a fraction of what a month-end premium plus a rushed, overbooked moving day does. If the gap runs the other way — new flat not ready — short-term storage bridges it cleanly.
The week: Tuesday to Thursday
Weekends feel convenient because nobody takes leave — which is exactly why they're the most expensive and most rushed slots. If you can take one day off, a mid-week move gets you the A-team crew, an on-time truck, and an empty service lift. It also means you land in your new home with the weekend still ahead of you for unpacking.
The season: what Bangalore weather does to a move
Summer (March–May)
Peak relocation season — school year ends, job switches spike, and May month-end is the single busiest moving week of the year. Book early. Crews start early in the morning to beat the heat; electronics shouldn't sit in a parked truck through a 2pm loading break, so a morning slot matters.
Monsoon (June–September)
Perfectly moveable — we shift homes every day of the monsoon — but it rewards preparation: shrink-wrapped mattresses and sofas, double-wrapped electronics, tarpaulin at the loading edge, and a morning start because Bangalore rain is mostly an afternoon-evening event.
